The system is composed of retractor rings and elastic stays that provide optimal exposure and access to the surgical site. The system has the ability to rapidly adapt to changes in the field as the procedure progresses with minimal effort and no additional personnel. The secret of the system is counter-traction created with the elastic stays. Used to retract tissue in opposing quadrants, the stay hook is placed into tissue and inserted into slots on the retractor ring to achieve the desired exposure.
